About Us

CHESS ASSOCIATION KERALA

(Affiliated to All India Chess Federation)

(Reg. No. S. 333/05)

Chess Association Kerala (CAK) is the official apex body for chess in the state of Kerala, registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act with Reg. No. S. 333/05, and proudly affiliated to the All India Chess Federation (AICF).

At CAK, our core objective is to discover, develop, and promote chess talent across Kerala. We are deeply committed to nurturing young minds and transforming them into confident, disciplined, and strategic thinkers — both over the board and in life. Through structured training, consistent exposure to competitive play, and collaboration with academies and district associations, we help players reach their full potential.

We organize the Kerala State Chess Championships annually in a wide range of categories including Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, and Under-25 — for both boys and girls. These tournaments offer budding players a crucial platform to compete, learn, and progress toward national and international levels.

Our efforts are driven by a belief that chess is not just a game, but a tool for intellectual and emotional growth, helping individuals build concentration, patience, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

Our Mission

To promote and popularize the game of chess throughout Kerala by creating opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels, with a special focus on identifying and nurturing young talent. We strive to provide structured training, regular tournaments, and a fair competitive environment that helps players evolve into strong national and international contenders.

Our Vision

To make Kerala a leading state in Indian chess by building a dynamic and inclusive chess ecosystem that inspires excellence, fosters lifelong learning, and produces champions who make a mark on the world stage.
